Highlights from Silverstone Auctions' The Dawn Of Motoring Sale

First up on our featured lots this week is this magnificent 8-litre Bentley, which began life as a Folding concealed head Coupé. It's previous owners have included the Duke of Leinster, J.C. Broadhead, Peter Harper, and James Whitaker. This charismatic car for charismatic owners hit a hammer price of £585,000.

Next up this week is this magnificent Brass Motor Union Badge from 1908-1910. Complete with its bolt-on bracket, this badge is a piece of history as Motor Union merged with the Automobile Association in 1910.

Perfect for family touring or long-distance pre-war rallies, this 4.3-litre tourer from celebrated English coachbuilders Abbey hit a final hammer price of £107,000. Of the 198 examples of the 4.3 that left the Coventry factory before wartime requirements ceased private car production, this is the only chassis ever fitted with this pattern of striking, four-door fully-opening drophead coupé bodywork by Abbey Coachworks.

For any Rolls-Royce enthusiasts, this toolkit from the 1920s offers a selection of 11 marked spanners and accessory tools suitable for Rolls-Royce 20hp and later types.

Last but certainly not least on our featured lots is this 1936 Lagonda LG45 Tourer, one of only 25 LG45's bodied as a Tourer. This coveted, very rare Tourer was first owned by Olympic Athlete and the 6th Marquess of Exeter, Lord Burghley.
