Enabling users to have a Commission bid or absentee bidding account on your web site is a smart way to build the number of bids prior to a live sale.

 

Our research has shown that Auctioneers using the Auction Marketer CMS are building up substantial numbers of pre-bids (commission bids) for their sales because of the professional way in which a user can easily set up a bidder account, define their auction preferences, and leave multiple bids whilst browsing your auction catalogues.

 

Each time a user places a commission bid there are clear advisories to affirm the legal obligations that apply, and the user is prompted to either continue bidding or submit their bids.

 

On submitting a commission bid or bid basket, users receive an email confirmation that can include full breakdowns explaining the maximum they would pay including buyers commission should they win at the top bid provided.

 

The Auctioneer also receives an email confirmation and if they are using the MS Dynamics NAV system integration all of the bids are automatically populated in the Auction management system. If the Auctioneer uses Bidmaster or Pacts Integration then they can export all of the commission bids from the web back office and add them to their system.

 

At the end of the auction when hammer prices are uploaded there are options to send out post auction invoices to the winning bidders that link directly to a secure payment page.  This cuts down on the number of post sale buyer enquirers and gets money into the business faster.

 

All in all having a user account function with a commission bid module linked to a payment gateway is a huge enabler for any Auctioneer serious about growing their business.
